Kubernetes YAML Generator

Deployment, Service, Ingress and autoscaler manifests for a web app.

About this tool

Fill in your app name, image, replicas, ports, CPU and memory, health-check path and environment variables, and choose whether to add an Ingress with HTTPS, a HorizontalPodAutoscaler and a ConfigMap. You get one multi-document YAML file to copy or download and apply with kubectl apply -f.

What the manifests contain

A typical stateless web service on Kubernetes needs a Deployment, which runs and replaces pods, and a Service, a stable address that load-balances across them. To reach it from outside, you add an Ingress that routes a hostname to the Service, with cert-manager issuing a TLS certificate. A HorizontalPodAutoscaler adds pods when average CPU passes your target. The generator follows common best practice: the recommended app.kubernetes.io/name label, a named container port the probes and Service refer to, resource requests so the scheduler can place pods sensibly, a memory limit to contain leaks, no CPU limit by default (CPU limits cause throttling), and readiness plus liveness probes so traffic only reaches healthy pods. Names are checked against Kubernetes' RFC 1123 rules, and it warns if the image uses :latest instead of a pinned tag. Honest limits: tune requests and limits from real metrics, put secrets in a Secret rather than env vars or a ConfigMap, and check annotations for your ingress controller (nginx, Traefik, cloud load balancers). YAML to JSON, docker run to Compose and the .env converter are related.

Frequently asked questions

How do I deploy an app to Kubernetes?

Generate the YAML here, then run kubectl apply -f app.yaml and check with kubectl get pods.

Should I set CPU limits?

Many teams set CPU requests but not limits, because limits can throttle apps. Always set a memory limit.

Do I need an Ingress?

Only to expose HTTP services by hostname. Internal services just need a ClusterIP Service.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is generated in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
