Putting a number on meeting time
Meetings are the one business expense nobody approves: a weekly one-hour sync for eight people quietly uses about 380 person-hours a year. The calculation converts each salary to an hourly rate (salary รท working hours โ 1,760 by default, roughly 44 weeks of 40 hours after holidays), adds an overhead for employer taxes, benefits, equipment and space (30% is a common rule of thumb; the realistic range is 20โ50%), and multiplies by the minutes. The figure is most useful for recurring meetings and large all-hands, where trimming 15 minutes or two attendees is worth thousands a year. Honest notes: cost is not value โ a decision that saves a month of work is cheap at any meeting price โ and salaries typed here stay in the tab and are not saved. The meeting timer keeps agenda items to time, the meeting minutes template records the decisions, the meeting planner finds a slot across time zones, and the salary converter handles hourly-to-annual sums; Gross vs net salary: what comes off your pay, and how to compare offers explains what employers pay on top of salary.
