Business Proposal Generator

A client proposal with scope, timeline, priced line items and sign-off.

About this tool

Fill in your business and the client, a short summary, the client's goals, then the scope, deliverables and timeline, one item per line. Add price lines as "description | amount" and they're totalled automatically. Payment terms, next steps and a signature line complete the document. Copy it, download it as text, or print it to PDF. The draft is saved in your browser.

What a winning proposal includes

A proposal is a sales document: it should make it easy for the client to say yes. Open with a short summary of their problem and your solution in two or three sentences, written about them rather than about you. Restate their goals in their own words, which shows you listened and gives you a yardstick for success. Then be specific about the scope (what work you'll do), the deliverables (what they'll receive) and the timeline (when). Vague scope is the most common cause of disputes later. Price lines are clearer than one lump sum because the client can see where the value is. The example's four items add up to Β£6,000 excluding VAT, with a 50% deposit and 50% on launch. Finish with payment terms, how long the offer stands, the next steps, and a signature line so acceptance is simple. Keep it to a few pages, use plain language, and send it soon after your conversation while the project is fresh. For bigger engagements, attach or reference full terms and conditions covering intellectual property, changes, cancellations and liability. Honest limits: a proposal isn't a contract on its own, so for larger or riskier work get a proper agreement checked. The quotation generator, the invoice generator and the freelance rate calculator are related, and How to write an invoice that gets paid covers billing.
