Printing on envelopes

Printing addresses straight onto envelopes looks neat and saves time when you're sending invitations, cards or business letters. Choose your envelope: DL (110 ร— 220 mm, for A4 folded in thirds), C5 (A4 folded once), C6 (A4 folded in quarters, common for cards), US #10 business envelopes, and A7 and A2 invitation and note-card envelopes. The layout is drawn at true millimetre size. The recipient's address sits in the lower centre-right, where postal sorting machines expect it, the return address goes top left, and a dashed box marks where the stamp will go (it prints only as a guide). Follow your postal service's format: in the UK put the postcode on its own last line; in the US put the city, state and ZIP on the last line. In the print dialog choose the envelope size (or a custom size), set scale to 100%, and feed the envelope the way your printer's manual or tray icon shows. Honest limits: print a test on plain paper trimmed to size first, since printers handle envelopes differently and some can't print near the edges; untick the stamp box so it doesn't print. The label maker and the invitation maker are related.
