Product Description Generator

Shop-ready product copy: headline, summary, features, benefits and specs.

About this tool

Enter the product name, type and who it's for. Then list each feature with what it means for the buyer, one per line, for example "Padded laptop sleeve β€” your 15-inch laptop rides safely to work". The tool writes a headline, a short summary (with a character count against the 160 characters search results usually show), a flowing long description, bullet points and a specifications list. Choose a friendly, premium or technical tone. The draft is saved in your browser.

How to write product descriptions that sell

Shoppers can't touch the product, so the description has to answer their questions and help them picture using it. Lead with benefits, meaning what the buyer gets, and support them with features, the facts that prove it. "Ultralight 380 g build, so you'll forget it's on your back" does both. Write for a specific customer and use the words they use. Keep the opening short and scannable, then add detail lower down: bullet points for quick readers, full specifications (size, weight, materials, care) for careful ones, and anything that reduces risk, such as guarantees, returns and delivery times. For search, put the product name and the type of product near the start, write a unique summary of about 150–160 characters for the meta description, and never copy the manufacturer's text, because duplicate descriptions give search engines no reason to rank your page. Check each marketplace's own limits and rules on titles, bullets and claims. Honest limits: the tool arranges what you give it, so accuracy is your responsibility; never claim certifications or results you can't back up. The meta tag generator, the SERP snippet preview and the value proposition generator are related.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a product description be?

A short summary of one or two sentences, then bullets and specs. Most sell well at 50–300 words, depending on the product.

Should I copy the manufacturer's description?

No. Duplicate text gives search engines no reason to rank your page. Write your own and keep claims accurate.

What is the difference between a feature and a benefit?

A feature is a fact (380 g); a benefit is what it means for the buyer (you'll forget it's on your back).

Is my draft saved or uploaded?

It's saved in this browser only, never uploaded.
