Planning a seating chart that works
Seating plans make weddings, gala dinners and classrooms run smoothly, but they're fiddly on paper because one change ripples through every table. Here you type the guest list once and the tool does the packing. Parties stay together: a couple, a family, or a line like "The Okafor family: Chidi, Ngozi, Ada, Obi" (text before a colon is just a label). Larger parties are seated first, so tables fill efficiently and nobody ends up alone at a table of strangers. In the example, 21 guests in 11 parties fit across three tables of eight. If there are more guests than seats, the extras are listed so you know to add a table. Shuffle mixes people randomly, which suits classrooms, workshops and networking events. Then fine-tune by clicking any two seats to swap them. Practical tips: seat the wedding party and close family nearest the top table, put friends who know each other together, mix shy guests with outgoing ones, keep children near their parents, and leave a spare seat or two for last-minute changes. Teachers can use the classroom layout to separate talkers or pair learners. Honest limits: the tool can't know who shouldn't sit together, so check the plan with someone who knows the guests.
